Framing Guide
Choosing frame, size and height
Size
Above a sofa or bed, choose a work about two thirds of the furniture's width. For a single wall with nothing beneath, go larger than feels comfortable.
Height
Hang the centre of the work at 145–150 cm from the floor. Above furniture, leave 20–25 cm between the two.
Frame
Oak warms a room; black gives definition; white lets the work float on a pale wall. When in doubt, match the frame to the darkest tone in the room.
Sets
Keep 5–8 cm between works in a diptych or triptych so they read as one piece.
